Mesmerizing Mauritius

The only airport at Mauritius is Sir Seewoosagar Rangaloom International Airport.

Air Mauritius is the national airline; official currency is Mauritius Rupee.

The tourist zone can be split into three zones:

1. North Island Tour

2. South Island Tour

3. Ile Aux Cerfs Tour

Most tour packages will cover the aforesaid tours as part of the package.  

North Island Tour:

Grand Bay or Grand Baie a tourist beach in north Mauritius; an hub for adventure activities like swimming, surfing and water skiing, a top  destination for shopping of clothes, jewellery and souvenir shops and a very lively night spot.

The most popular beaches are La Cuvette Beach and Grand Bay public beach.

Mucho  closer to grand bay the pereybere beach is much sought after beaches amongst tourist for its shopping facilities and pubs.

Triolet Shivala, longest island which hosts a Hindu Temple in honour of Shiva, Krishna, Vishnu, Brahma and Ganesha.

Balaclava ruins located close to Baie Aux Tortues where one can find ruins of old Balaclava estate.

Caudan Waterfront which hosts a movie theatre, gaming arcades and host of local restaurants.

Labourdonnais Orchards where you can witness variety of tropical fruit tress and colourful and exotic flowers.    

South Island Tour:

Trou Aux Cerfs a dormant volcano that is only accessible through a down steep embarkment

Grand Bassin a lake sacred to Hindus there are several temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and a 33 meter tall statue of Lord Shiva.

The Chamarel coloured earth which hosts seven shades of earth which are formed from volcanic ash deposit that cooled at different temperatures.

Ile Aux Cerfs Tour:

A 15 minute boat trip takes you to Ile Aux Cerfs Tour an island where you can spent time relaxing by the clear waters or take a stroll or swim by the water.

You can also opt for adventure activities like snorkelling and para sailing to name a few.
