Hong Kong Airport Bus Transport

We took bus S1 from HKIA  (Airport) to MTR Tung Chung (Fare HKD 3.5 per person)

From MTR Tung Chung you can take the metro to MTR East Tsim Sha Tsui Station

First stop is to find hotels in Kowloon; you get hotels between HKD 600 - 1600 per night.

But if you are a budget traveler you can choose to stay at Chunk King Mansion (only place in Hong Kong where you get Indian Food) where you can get rooms from HKD 250 to HKD 350 per night.

The rooms are pretty small but you get hot water, Air Condition, Television and wi fi.

But Chunk King Mansion there are limited options for Veg. Food  except Mcdonalds where the only veg food are French fries and boiled corns.

In the evening, we proceeded towards Kowloon Harbour; where most of the tourist attractions are within walking distance:

  1. Hong Kong Cultural Museum
  2. Hong Kong Museum of Art
  3. Hong Kong Space Centre
  4. Symphony of Lights
  5. Avenue of Stars
  6. Clock Tower

Nearest Metro Station : Tsim Sha Tsui Station

We had our dinner at Chung King Mansion which is the abode of Indian Food and place where you get cheap accommodations.

The moment you enter the main gate you are surrounded by Indians and Pakistanis who offer you cheap food and guest houses (for a moment you feel like you are at Mumbai's Juhu Beach) where vendors vie for your attention.

The Mansion is located right opposite Tsim Sha Tsui Station.

After having our dinner at Pakistani restaurant; we took the metro to Mong Kok East Station.

End of our first day at Hong Kong reached our Spanish hotel at Kowloon in Mong Kok East; there is nothing remotely Spanish about the hotel (its just the name) deceptive name.

Next entry on Day two to follow in few days till then take care.

Day Two:

We reach the Harbour at Kowloon and took a ferry to reach Honk Kong Island at the other side of the Harbour.

We took bus no 15C from star ferry pier to Central Peak Tram Terminus a 15 minute ride away from the harbour.

Bus fare: HKG 4.2 Per person one way.

Places to see: Peak Tower which is open from 7 am to 12 am.

The tower has six levels and a roof terrace; Podium 1 is where the buses arrive and the ground floor is where the buses departure.

There is a mall named the Peak Galleria which houses shops, restaurants, super markets amongst others.

Here we walked on two trails that provide excellent view of the Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.

The trails are:
  1. Hong Kong Trail or Lugard Road a 3.5 km circular walk
  2. The second one is Governors walk which is relatively easy walk but covers some poshest suburbs of Hong Kong.
After walking on the two trails we head back to the Bus station to reach the ferry and head back to our hotel.

A Few Photos that I took during day!

In the night after dinner, we went to Night Market at Kowloon.

How to get there:

  • From MTR Jordan Station; Exit A; turn right onto Jordan Road and take another right onto temple street.
  • From MTR Yau Ma Tei Station; Exit C; turn onto Temple Street at Man Ming Lane

Nice place to Shop lots of popular street bazaar items for take away here.

After a two hour walk exploring the market and doing some shopping we retreat to our hotel.

Next up Day three and the final day at Hong Kong; stay tune.

Day Three:

We head to MTR Hong Kong to take the Airport Express Line which takes directly to the Hong Kong International Airport which enables you to check in directly from the MTR Hong Kong.

Although the same is time saving but rather expensive.

Hence, we take the airport bus from MTR Hong Kong to the Airport an hours drive.

We keep our luggage at the Airport and head towards exploring the Lantau Island as we had about six hours before our flight.

From Airport we take metro to MTR Tung Chung.

From the MTR Tung Chung we take bus number 23 to Ngong Ping Village a scenic drive which is a photographers delight.

Here we visited Po Lin Monastery as well as the Giant Buddha.

We then take the wisdom trail which is a beautiful trekking spot about 20 minutes walk from the base of the Giant Buddha Statue.

Another alternative is cable car from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping 360 which takes 25 minutes and is something worth experiencing.

As our flight time is near we head back to the Airport.

And its bye bye Hong Kong.
