Best Time to Visit: July; although it can rain any time of the year and the temperature can drop after rainfall making for a pleasant weather.
I had a transit halt at Kuala Lumpur (KL) for about 22 hours; this blog documents my experience of exploring KL in limited time.
KL is a bit short when it comes to tourist attractions so limited time if used effectively is enough to see KL.
From the KL Airport; I proceed to KL Sentral; there are two way to reach there:
Option 1: KLIA Ekspres (Non Stop) : The quickest and time consuming way; duration; 28 minutes fares : RM 35 per adult, RM 15 per Child Frequency: Every 15 minutes (peak hours), 20 minutes (Non peak hours) and 30 minutes (after mid night).
Option 2: KLIA Transit: makes three stops between KL Airprot to KL Sentral; duration; 35 minutes fares : RM 35 per adult, RM 15 per Child Frequency: Every 20 minutes (peak hours) and 30 minutes (Non peak hours)
Upon Arrival at the KL Sentral station; I took the LRT Kelana Jaya Line to KL City Centre to visit the petronas towers (Fare RM 1.60)
There is long queue and you may not get a ticket for immediate available slot unless in group; since I was travelling alone; I got my ticket for the afternoon slot.
After getting the ticket I head to Little India by taking the train to Masjid Jamek Station and got down at Pasar Seni Station from where within walking distance you can see the mosque, merdeka square national history museum before exploring the china town.
Next up is batu caves which is accessible from KL city centre to Batu Cvaes via KL kommuter line, the fare is RM 2 and takes around 30 minutes.
Located just outside the cave is the worlds tallest statute of murugan, a Hindu deity; the cave which i made mostly of limestone is beautiful and worth a visit.
If you have spare time, you should explore the cave in detail which consists of numerous shrines.
I proceed bck to KL City Centre to see the petronas towers; the elevator took u to floor no 41 where the two towers are joined by a sky bridge where you are permitted to spend 15 minutes before moving to floor no 86 which houses a observatory deck and a museum.
The complete tour takes 45 minutes and it is a must see if you visit KL.
I head back to KL Sentral station where I have some food (Food court is on third floor of the building) before catching the KLIA Ekspres to the Airport
