Trip to Nepal

Day One:

Took the flight from Mumbai to Kathmandu (Duration 2 hour 35 minutes) reached there 13:30 local time.

Immigration and visa were quite simple we were within 30 minutes; being a SAARC National the visa was gratis (free).

At the Tourist Information Centre we book a hotel at Thamel in Kathmandu and we are provided a car ride for free from Airport to Hotel which is 40 minutes drive and the roads are  quite terrible.

The first day was spent finalizing our trip for next 3 days with the travel agent and doing a small walk around the market for shopping.

Day Two

We are picked up from our Hotel at 7:00 in the morning by the tour operator and we walk towards the bus station to catch our bus to pokhara which is seven hour ride and cost INR 700; the buses are comfortable and passes through some really scenic views including mountains and rivers.

The bus stops every 90 minutes for tea break, break fast and lunch in that order; the food offered at the stop overs is fairly o for it price  and offers very little variety.

But the seven hour journey is bound to make you hungry and you will be content with what you get; after all something is better than nothing.

We reach Pokhara Bus station at 14: 30 hours and are received by our tour operator who takes us to our hotel which his 10 minutes drive; we get fresh and are on our way out to explore the city from 16:00 hours.

Our car takes us to the International Mountain Museum which is gives a great insight into mountaineering and its history in Nepal.

After spending about 40 minutes we proceed to Devis Falls which is absolutely amazing and definitely worth a visit . Entrance fees INR 20.

After clicking some wonderful snaps we cross the road to see the Gupteshwar Maahdev caves dedicated to the Hindu God Lord Shiva a must see for it natural formation beneath the surface of the earth

In the evening we toll along the phewa lake for some souvenir shopping and dinner before calling it a day.

 Day Three:

We have an early breakfast which was part of the hotel package and proceed to the bus station to catch our bus for Kathmandu; the bus begin its journey at 7: 30 in the morning and reached Kathmandu at 15:30 in the afternoon; delay by one hour due to some repairing work on the road; upon arrival at the city we are greeted by our tour operator who takes us on tour of the city.

First stop the Boudha Stupa which is a major Buddhist attraction after a brief photo session we proceed to the Pashupatinath Temple which is a revered site for Hindus; a pilgrimage spot very sacred and a must see when visiting the city.

We complete our sightseeing by 18:00 hours and proceed to Nagarkot which is small town roughly 32 km from kathmandu and passes through Bhaktpur city; the journey is of 40 minutes and ends at the Hill top where our hotel was nestled and we spend the evening doing nothing as in the dark it becomes difficult to see and there are no railings or street lights so you may fall off the cliff if you are not careful plus the bad roads and the rain which ads to your misery and hence we preferred to stay indoors and wait for sun rise where we will get an opportunity to catch some stunning pictures of the Himalayas.

Day Four:

An early start to the morning at 05:00 hours; took a hot shower and went to the highest point on the hill took click some breathtaking snaps of the himalayan range; an must have experience if in Nepal.

After an hour we had for breakfast which was part of our hotel package.

We then proceed to check out and begin our journey towards Kathmandu stopping in between to visit doleshwar temple a hindu shrine.

We reach the airport 2 hours before our schedule departure.

Thus bringing an end to a wonderful journey of Nepal.
